On 4 June 2026, Palác Dunaj in Prague hosted a round table on the development of arbitration in the Czech Republic. The event was organised by the Czech Institute for the Popularisation and Revitalisation of Arbitration (CZIPRA) in cooperation with the Czech Bar Association. Leading figures of the Czech arbitration community — arbitrators, attorneys and representatives of professional institutions — came together to discuss how to strengthen confidence in arbitration and its position in the legal landscape.
The International Arbitration Court in Prague at the Czech-Moravian Commodity Exchange Kladno (PRIAC) was represented by Presidium Vice-Chairman JUDr. David Řezníček, LL.M., Ph.D. PRIAC regards the support and popularisation of arbitration as a long-term goal it has pursued for many years, and it therefore took an active part in the discussion.
The discussion focused on several topics essential to the future of Czech arbitration: uniting a still fragmented arbitration community, modernising the legal framework in line with international standards, enhancing the predictability and efficiency of proceedings, and education in arbitration. Participants broadly agreed on the need for these changes.
PRIAC considers the meeting a valuable impetus and stands ready for further cooperation. As a permanent arbitration court specialising in commodity disputes with an international dimension, it intends to contribute to the development of domestic arbitration through its experience and concrete activities — including the forthcoming expert forum PRIAC DAY 2026.
